The following tips have been supplied to enable you to assist Defence Bank protect your funds when using your cheque book:

- Keep your cheque book in a secure place and never give it to others
- Never pre-sign cheques
- Always use pens to write your cheques – pencil can be erased
- When posting cheques in the mail, cross the cheque with the words 'Not Negotiable'
- If you are expecting a cheque book in the mail and it does not arrive within a reasonable time, contact Defence Bank on 1800 033 139.
