Defence Bank has proudly offered Services Accident Insurance (SAI) to Australian Defence Force members for the past couple of years. This insurance is provided by Chartis. Chartis has recently decided to withdraw the current SAI product and will be introducing a new product in the next few months. It will replace the current product which will close in 2012. Due to this announcement and the waiting periods applicable to this product, the current SAI Insurance is no longer available for sale at Defence Bank. An update will be provided once we are able to review the new product details.
How does this impact existing Injury & Accident Insurance policies?

- Existing policyholders’ cover continues unchanged
- Once the new product becomes available, existing policyholders can choose to either switch or retain their current policy until August 2012
- Any remaining existing policies will be closed in August 2012.
