Defence Bank K-Series
The Defence Bank K-Series has been sponsored by Defence Bank since its inception over 20 years ago. It’s a great day of sport, where the ADF community comes together twice a year in Kapooka, NSW.
The first K-Series of 2015 was held on 7 March and hosted 13 teams from around Australia, with teams competing to take home trophies in the Netball and Rugby Union tournaments. The Netball tournament had 6 teams participating, with the ACT/NSW team taking out the trophy.
The main event was the K-Series Rugby Union. With seven teams fiercely competing in the competition, there were lots of injuries! In the end, 7th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment (Adelaide) (7RAR) took out the first place trophy. Best and Fairest went to No. 10 7RAR LCPL Michael Lowrie. The Play of the Day was awarded to the 7RAR team for the excellent plays in the game against the Puckapunyal Boars.
The Defence Bank team was proud to be there on the day as part of overall sponsorship of the event. We also provided a (well-deserved) free massage service and refreshments to the players after their time battling it out against their counterparts from around the country.
