Darwin Charity Golf Day
Our team in Darwin worked incredibly hard to put together the Charity Golf Day at the Darwin RAAF Golf Club, which was held on Sunday 29 March. Helped by over 35 local businesses and corporate supporters, the day was filled with 18 holes of golf, nearest to the pin competitions, raffles, as well as food and drink to keep everyone happy.
During the day, an impressive $7,300 was raised for the Defence Bank Foundation.
A huge thank you goes to all our sponsors for the day, the RAAF Golf Club, all the players and the Defence Bank team in Darwin.

RAAF Base Darwin opened its gates to the NT community in August to show their appreciation for the support they received during the recent ‘Pitch Black’ exercise. On the day, locals got an up close look at aircraft from all over the world including Australia, Singapore, Thailand, the US and Indonesia. As part of the Defence community, Defence Bank was proud to be involved in the day, and our staff enjoyed saying ‘thank you’ to the local community by running competitions and giving away some great prizes.
Darwin’s Defence Community Organisation (DCO) expo was held at the Palmerston Recreation Centre on Sunday 26 February, ending a week of significant events commemorating the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Darwin. Around 1000 people attended the event with almost 80 community and sporting groups providing information and welcoming new arrivals to the area.
Friendly Defence Bank staff were on hand to give away free show bags filled will goodies and answer lots of questions, ranging from DHOAS home loans to explaining our name change to Defence Bank. People also had a chance to win some exciting prizes from our Treasure Chest.
