We've recently updated our app with new features that will streamline your banking. 

Planning a trip away? With our Overseas Travel Planner you can log your overseas travel plans through the Defence Bank app and request to be contacted by a Defence Bank consultant about your upcoming journey.

Goodbye rediATM, hello easier fee-free withdrawals

From 1 February 2019 Defence Bank will exit the rediATM network. We made this decision based on members reduced need for rediATMs as a result of the big four banks decision to provide fee-free banking for ATMs Australia wide.
 
Where to withdraw cash fee-free
Defence Bank members can now use the 10,000 ATMs in the combined fleets of the big banks around Australia without being charged for the transaction.
 
You can use your Defence Bank Visa card at these ATMs:

  • Commonwealth
  • ANZ
  • NAB
  • Westpac

Please note – members choosing to withdraw from a rediATM from 1 February 2019 will incur a $2.50 usage fee.


Important changes to your credit card that benefit you

With the Australian Government recently passing new legislation regarding credit card usage, Defence Bank will be changing the way we calculate interest on purchases made using your credit card.
 
What this change means for you

From 1 January 2019 if you don’t pay the closing balance of your current statement in full by the due date, instead of interest accruing on purchases from the date of pur­chase, interest will only accrue on purchases from the day after the payment due date for that statement. This reduces the amount of interest charges you have to pay.
 
Importantly, if you pay the full balance owing each month by the due date, you will still get the benefit of the full interest free period on purchases of up to 55 days.

We've extended our BSB changeover period 

We have extended our BSB changeover period to give you more time to make the necessary changes before BSB 803-205 is turned off on 30 June 2019. Both our new BSB 833-205 and current BSB 803-205 will now remain active throughout the first half of 2019.

The introduction of our new BSB 833-205 will impact on all direct debits and direct credits associated with your account. To ensure you are fully updated and prepared for this change please take a few moments to read the FAQ's by clicking here.
