Mozo judges look at the features available and the ability of apps to allow people to conduct everyday banking via mobile, often the main interaction with a bank.

Defence Bank was one of eight banks honoured and the only mutual bank to make the honours list.

David Marshall CEO of Defence Bank commented, “We are thrilled to receive another endorsement for our banking app. It reflects our focus on continuously improving the functionality of the app for members to support their unique lives.

“Our members can be at home or on deployment either in Australia or overseas, so having banking at their fingertips is something they need to meet their unique circumstances.

“There’s very little our award-winning app can’t do, and we will continue to look to improve the app and make it even better and more responsive.

“We are also really honoured to be a recipient of this award alongside some of our major bank competitors. It shows you can be nimble and take on the big players.

“We are always privileged to be part of the customer owned banking sector and are the only recipient of this award from the customer or member owned sector.

“Being relevant to our members is at the forefront of our minds always and we don’t take this responsibility for granted.”

The Defence Bank app is part of our full-service digital offering, with the app rated 4.8 stars in the Apple Store and 4.6 stars on Google Play. Members can make convenient and fast payments through Osko and PayID and have access to the full suite of digital pays - Apple, Google, Fitbit, Garmin and Samsung.

The app includes information on where money is spent via Look Who’s Charging, availability to Round Up and transfer funds to a nominated savings account, a Payday Dashboard, a net position tool, secure messaging with no need to email and card management tools including changing pins and locking accounts.
